Can’t make sense of credit card boilerplate? Good information design can clarify even the most inscrutable consumer communications. CitizenR&D collaborated with The Public Design Lab to redesign disclosure information on credit card solicitations. An editorial in The New York Times (May 24, 2009) presented their prototype for a new, easy-to-read, more citizen-friendly format that highlights the need for better federal regulation of credit industry communications.

The Nutrition labels were our model for standardizing complex information.

The Public Design Lab team created this visualization of a standardized credit disclosure fact box.
