Mirroring the problems of a small city, the largest hospital in New York’s metropolitan area needed to control growing circulation problems. Weill Cornell Medical Center, partner of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, hired CitizenR&D to consult with institutional stakeholders and brainstorm a new vision for presenting visitor and wayfinding information. The project produced a needs analysis and visitor information policy. The firm also led the search for an environmental graphic design team to implement approved policies. Over the next five years, the hospital plans to redesign and replace all exterior and interior signage while rolling out a companion visitor communications program.

Team created new branding for building exteriors that welcomes visitors and clearly marks the entry.

The program addresses all of the communications that visitors encounter, forming a seamless experience.
